Marathwada Drought Relief Services

In 2015 Rain God hasn’t been kind enough on Indian Sub-continent because of which many regions in India are facing heavy water crisis. Of all the regions, Marathwada in
Maharashtra State has been worst hit due to which Government has announced “Drought” in some areas of this Region– particularly in Latur, Beed, Osmanabad. The situation in some of these areas is so grave that water supply is given to locals after every 20 days and that too for 10 minutes only. Those who are worst affected by this condition are “Farmers” who are committing “Suicides” due to their inability to repay loans & failed “Kharif Crop” due to failed monsoon in this region from past 3 years.. After taking into consideration the plight of these innocent farmers in this region, Brahmakumaris Disaster Management Services along with Global Hospital & Research Centre has taken a decision to help drought affected souls by providing them physical & mental support.
Rajyogi Brother Karuna ji from Brahmakumaris International Head Quarters Mount Abu has been touring entire Region of Marathwada since last 1 Week to study the gravity of drought situation. After meeting government officials, local bodies representatives, Media Persons as well as Farmers from all over Marathwada Region, the Brahmakumaris have decided to extend their help to 5000 Farmers & their families in “First Phase” of Drought Relief Measures by distributing Gram Seeds (Chana) & Jowar Seeds in order to facilitate “Rabi Crop” sowing which needs to be done within 15 days.
We are happy to share with you all that the First Phase of “Brahmakumaris Drought Relief Services” was launched at Janval Village in Latur District on 22 September 2015 in presence of Government Officials & Local Bodies Representatives.  Farmers who were issued “Special Identity Cards” were given Crop seeds by Rajyogi Karuna ji & other dignitaries. Brahmakumaris has decided to carry out more Relief Work at regular intervals and look after 5000 Farmers & their families. But as on today the need of hour is to provide Seeds to Farmers on an URGENT basis, hence we would request you all to come forward and help in this cause to save farmers and gift them a new life of self sufficiency.
